OFFF Review: Fancyrence's Interactive Crowd Art - PSFK - 1 views

  •
This is an interactive display exhibited at the OFFF Conference. The display showed a live video feed of conference attendees, and those viewing the display were able to add digital graffiti such as costumes, funny faces, etc., to the video feed. This could be a good tech to look into for Cartoon Network.

NewsGame aims to populate a virtual world with real reporting and pretend cor... - 1 views

  • Players encounter issues in the game world that are probably playing out in real life — a bombing in Pakistan, drug battles in Colombia — then pitch related stories to actual journalists, who populate the game with original reporting. Loudon says he is working with VJ Movement’s existing network of 300 journalists in more than 100 countries. Those journalists are paid €750 to produce a video report or €150 for an editorial cartoon. (The rates are being tweaked to reflect pay scales in different countries.)

Share Movies via UltraViolet Spectrum - 0 views

  •
So this Ultraviolet program unifies digital downloads into a single "digital locker." OEMs and retailers are onboard to sell these digital downloads that just work across different media players and online stores, regardless of where the product was initially purchased--Apple/Disney are not on board, but this strategy runs counter to the iTunes lock-in ecosystem.

Children's apps to date have generally been simple and sometimes not of good quality.  Now we are beginning to see the release of apps where work began around the same time, but developers took more time to make the app more sophisticated and based on interesting concepts.
